Renaissance man?
Sir Francis Drake was known as a great sea captain, privateer, navigator, slaver, and also a politician during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. If queen Elizabeth allowed him the attack other ships if they looked like trouble, then she must have trusted him to be a good sea captain. Although Sir Francis Drake was not an artist, he still contributed a lot to the renaissance.
